Week 33 Update

5th Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
The warm weather is here and has brought with it the usual mutters, whispers, and gasps related to our annual IOWA tests. The students started the practice tests this week and are faring along quite comfortably. What they need to remember as we approach these tests just over a week from now, is that they are as prepared as they can be if they use the strategies and problem solving skills that we have worked tirelessly on all year. We will send more information about these tests home soon.
What we learned This week
Maths: Topic 17- Equations and Graphs
Literacy: A Focus on Plays – The Case of the Runaway Appetite/Writing to Compare and Contrast
Science: Chapter 5 – The Water Cycle
Social Studies: Chapter 13 Decades of Change
What we will learn Next Week
Maths: Topic 18- Graphs and Data
Literacy: A Focus on Plays – The Case of the Runaway Appetite/Writing to Compare and Contrast
