Week 25 Update

5th Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
The students have been quite busy this week preparing for our International Expo next Friday while still finding time to draft their own historical fiction stories. The characters being developed along with the plots and periods in time being covered promise to make this an entertaining and educational experience for all involved.
March has arrived with immediate promises of spring. We are now entering a very busy time of the year that involves a number of activities in addition to our International Expo. Please take note of the following activities that will run throughout our upcoming Spirit Week that takes place the week after next (March 12-16).
  • Monday: Inside Out / Upside Down Day
  • Tuesday: Crazy Hair / Hat Day
  • Wednesday: Race Day (Team colors) (13:00 - 15:00)
  • Thursday: Fake Injury
  • Friday: St.Patrick’s Day (Green)

What we learned This week
Maths: Topic 12 – Perimeter and Area
Literacy: Historical Fiction – Katie’s Trunk. Historical Fiction Writing.
Science: Chapter 3 – Ecosystems
Social Studies: Chapter 10 World War II
