Week 19 Update

5th Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
Time has grown wings and taken flight once again. We’re looking ahead to Literacy Week already next week and before we know it, we will be choosing a country to discover more about for our International Expo. Between now and then we still have Chinese Week and our fast-approaching Chinese New Year. If they keep the fun levels running this high, time will melt and our current Grade 5s will be filling out college applications before we know it.
What we learned This week
Math: Topic 9 – Fractions and Decimals
Literacy: Informational Reading and Writing – War Horse (World War One Historical Fiction).
Science: Chapter 3 – Growth and Survival
Social Studies: Ch. 7 World War One
What we will learn Next week
Math: Topic 9 – Maths: Topic 10 – Adding and Subtracting Fractions and Decimals/TOPIC TEST
Literacy: Literacy Week – Zootopia (A Disney movie about prejudice, bias, and stereotypes).
Science: Chapter 3 – Growth and Survival
Social Studies: Ch. 7 World War One – Chapter wrap up and test.
