Week 9 Update

5th Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
October approaches its end and our Fancy Dress Day will be held next Tuesday. This can only mean that our mid-semester break is upon us already. Please note that it begins next Friday, November 3rd and there is also no school the following Monday, November 6th.  
It will be the middle of November before we know it, so please keep in mind that our Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held in the afternoons and evenings from November 13th to 17th. I look forward to discussing your child’s progress with you then.

What we learned This week
Math: Topic 4 – Dividing by one-digit divisors. Topic 4 Test.
Literacy: Summarisation/My Side of the Mountain/Nouns
Science: Chapter 1 – Properties of Matter
Social Studies: Ch. 3 The Civil War and Reconstruction/Chapter Review and Test

What we will learn Next week
Math: Topic 5 – Dividing by two-digit divisors. Topics 1-4 Cumulative Multiple Choice Test next Tuesday.
Literacy: Summarisation/My Side of the Mountain/Nouns TEST

Week 8 Update

5th Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
Our eighth week together has come to an end which means we’re nearly halfway through the first semester of Grade 5. With this in mind, please note that our mid-semester break is coming up soon, after which our Parent-Teacher Conferences are next on the agenda. Before then though, we will have our Fancy Dress Day on Tuesday, October 31st which is the week after next.
