Week 2 Update

5th Grade Weekly Update
Dear Parents,
Welcome once again to the new school year and to Grade 5 at HIS.
The first two weeks have been spent familiarizing the students with our routines in Grade 5. We have worked together to ensure that every student is aware of the need for organization at this grade level and the students have done well to adapt to the organizational systems we use in our classroom.
It has been good to see the level of interest in learning exhibited by each of the students so far and I have certainly enjoyed getting to know them better since the start of the school year. Now that our initial diagnostic and formative assessments are mostly completed, I am happy for us to start tackling the curriculum in a more in-depth fashion and I look forward to all of the work the students will produce in the coming year.
I look forward to meeting all of the new parents and seeing returning ones next Thursday, September 14th, at 6:30PM for our Parent Introductory Evening. Parents will be invited upstairs to the Grade 5 classroom after our welcome formal introductions to all staff take place in the B1 Auditorium.

Student of the Week: Congratulations to YunJu Paek. Please visit the Student of the Week page on our blog to find out more about each week’s recipient.
Dojo Masters:  After our first week of familiarizing ourselves with Class Dojo and how it works in Grade 5, I am happy to note that all of the students are Dojo Masters this week. Now that everybody knows the rules and routines, the honour of Dojo Master is going to become a little more difficult to obtain each week. Only the most organized and dedicated Grade 5s will see there names on the list from now  on .
